And how to accept it!
We believe this gift is needed by everyone, and it can only be given by God. This gift,
is the the gift of eternal life, and there is the only one way God has provided for
us to get into Heaven forever, that way, that truth, is Jesus Christ. (John 14:6)
Romans 6:23 states: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
You need to be saved from the wrath of God that you have stored up for yourself
through your sin, and the resulting condemnation to Hell. Our sins earn us death as
wages, and after we die we will face a judgment for these sins.
(Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27)
We know that there is no one "good" but God. For all have sinned, and come short of
the glory of God; (Matthew 19:17, Romans 3:23, Romans 3:10)
Our sins, such as the ones listed in the 10 Commandments, like lying, stealing,
blaspheming God's name, fornicating, committing adultery, even dishonoring
our parents, condemns us to an eternity in Hell. We have all broken God's law, and we will
all be held accountable for doing so. (Exodus 20:1-17, Mark 9:43, James 2:10)
There is good news, and a way out from you facing the consequences of the debt
of your sin. Even though we have sinned against God, and we can offer God nothing
back for our sins. (Mark 8:37, Isaiah 64:6)
The Good News (otherwise known as the "Gospel") is that Jesus Christ, who was
born of a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life. He sacrificed himself by dying on the
cross to pay the debt that we owe for our sins. He was buried, and 3 days later
he rose again, being seen by more than 500 witnesses. He later ascended to Heaven and
is seated at the right hand of the Father. All of this was done in accordance
to and in fulfillment of scriptural prophecies of the old testament.
Jesus proved He was the promised savior to come. He made the payment for
our sins in His life's blood. God poured out His wrath, that we deserve, upon Christ.
This was done for all those who would believe in Him. Jesus, who is God, became
what the Bible calls the propitiation for our sins. Our debts caused by our sins
were paid through Christ’s sacrifice, if we believe on Him. We do this by repenting,
which means to have a change of mind, turning away from our sin, and towards God, and trusting in Jesus.
(1 John 2:2, Revelation 14:10, Mark 1:15, John 3:16, Romans 10:9)
You must repent and believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ! (Mark 1:15, Romans 10:9)
You put ALL of your trust in Jesus Christ, His life, His completed work, His death,
and His resurrection, as the means by which you are saved. You are not saved
through any process of your own work, but by simply believing with faith on Jesus
Christ. If you confess your sins unto Christ, God who cannot lie, has promised in his
word to cleanse you of them. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 1:2, 1 John 1:9)
